# Disable Conversations - Airmail for macOS

If you prefer not to use Gmail-style conversations in your inbox, Airmail gives you the option to **disable Conversation View**. When disabled, received and sent emails are shown as **separate threads**, rather than grouped together.

Please note that enabling or disabling the **“Use Conversations”** setting only affects how emails are displayed **within Airmail’s database**. It does not make any changes on the mail server itself.

In the following screenshot you need to uncheck ‘Use Conversations’:

Once you uncheck the “Use Conversations” option, Airmail will no longer group emails into threads. Instead, each message will appear separately in your inbox.
