Airmail downloads a limited number of recent emails by default to optimize performance and storage.

Default Behavior

• Airmail typically syncs the most recent emails from each folder
• The exact number depends on your account type and settings
• Older emails are fetched on-demand when you scroll back or search

Adjusting Sync Settings

1. Go to Settings → Accounts → [Your Account]
2. Look for Days to Sync or Messages to Sync
3. Increase the number if you need access to older emails offline

Important Notes

• Syncing more emails uses more local storage and may slow performance
• Using Search will find emails on the server even if they're not synced locally
• Gmail "All Mail" can contain thousands of emails — syncing all of them is not recommended
• For IMAP accounts, the server always has the complete email history
