How to Add a Yahoo Mail Account to Airmail

Problem

You're having trouble adding your Yahoo Mail account to Airmail, or authentication keeps failing.

Solution

Method 1: OAuth Sign-In

1. Open Airmail
2. Go to Settings → Accounts → Add Account
3. Select Yahoo
4. You'll be redirected to Yahoo's sign-in page
5. Enter your Yahoo email and password
6. Grant Airmail access when prompted

Method 2: App Password (If 2FA is Enabled)

If you have Two-Factor Authentication enabled on Yahoo:

1. Go to login.yahoo.com in a web browser
2. Navigate to Account Security
3. Click Generate App Password
4. Select "Other App" and name it "Airmail"
5. Copy the generated password
6. In Airmail, add Yahoo as IMAP with this app password

• IMAP: imap.mail.yahoo.com, Port 993, SSL
• SMTP: smtp.mail.yahoo.com, Port 465, SSL

Troubleshooting

• Make sure "Allow apps that use less secure sign in" is enabled in Yahoo Account Security (if not using app password)
• Try removing and re-adding the account
• Clear Yahoo account sessions at login.yahoo.com → Recent Activity
