How to Set a Default Email Account in Airmail

Problem

When composing a new email, Airmail uses the wrong "From" account, and you want to set a default sending account.

Solution

On macOS

1. Go to Settings → Accounts
2. The account at the top of the list is your default account
3. Drag accounts to reorder them — place your preferred default account first
4. Alternatively: Settings → Composing → Default Account to explicitly set it

On iOS

1. Go to Settings → Composing
2. Look for Default Account
3. Select your preferred account

Smart Default Behavior

Airmail has a smart default feature: when you reply to an email, it automatically uses the account that received the email. The default account setting only applies to new compositions.

Changing Account While Composing

You can always change the sending account while composing:

1. In the compose window, click on the "From" field
2. Select the account you want to send from
