How to Set Up Push Notifications in Airmail

Problem

You're not receiving push notifications for new emails in Airmail on iPhone or iPad.

Solution

Step 1: Enable Push in Airmail

  1. Open Airmail
  2. Go to Settings → Notifications
  3. Make sure Push Notifications are enabled
  4. Check that notifications are enabled for each account individually

Step 2: Check iOS Notification Settings

  1. Go to iOS Settings → Notifications
  2. Find Airmail
  3. Make sure Allow Notifications is ON
  4. Enable: Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners
  5. Set Alert Style to Persistent if you want them to stay on screen

Step 3: Airmail Pro Required

Important: Push Notifications are a Pro feature. If you're using the free version of Airmail, you will only receive notifications when you manually open the app. Upgrade to Airmail Pro for real-time push notifications.

Step 4: Check Background App Refresh

  1. Go to iOS Settings → General → Background App Refresh
  2. Make sure it's enabled for Airmail

Step 5: Disable Low Power Mode

Low Power Mode can delay or prevent push notifications. Disable it in Settings → Battery if you need real-time alerts.
