# POP3 Account Limitations in Airmail

POP3 accounts have certain limitations when used in Airmail:

- **Do not empty the trash** directly from the app for POP3 accounts, as this may cause issues
- POP3 downloads emails to the device and may not sync properly across multiple devices

**Recommendation:** If possible, switch to **IMAP** for better email management and cross-device synchronization.
