Printing or Saving an Email as PDF Produces Blank Pages on macOS 26

If you print an email from Airmail, or save it as a PDF, and the result is a blank page (or a document with large empty gaps where the message should be), this is a known issue and not a problem with your Mac or your account.

What you will see

The header block (From, To, Subject and Date) prints correctly, and the number of pages is right, but the body of the message is missing. Plain-text emails usually print without any problem: the issue affects emails with formatted (HTML) content, which is most everyday correspondence and most newsletters and invoices.

Which versions are affected

The problem has been reported on Airmail 26.0.22 from the Mac App Store, running on macOS 26. It affects both Print and Export to PDF.

What to do now

Before anything else, please make sure you are running the latest version of Airmail from the Mac App Store. Open the App Store, click Updates in the sidebar, and install any update available for Airmail. Then quit Airmail completely and reopen it.

If the issue persists, the following two workarounds produce a correct, complete document while we prepare a fix.

Print the message as plain text. Open the email, switch the message view to plain text, then use File and Print as usual. Because plain-text bodies are not affected, the printed document and the resulting PDF will contain the full text of the message.

Forward the message to yourself and print it from your browser. Forward the email to your own address, open it in your provider's web interface (for example Gmail or Outlook on the web), and print or save it as a PDF from there. This preserves the formatting of the original message.

Reporting the problem to us

Our development team has confirmed the defect and a fix is being prepared. We are not able to promise a release date, because every update must also pass Apple's App Store review before it reaches you.

If you would like to help, write to us and include the version of Airmail you are using (Airmail, then About Airmail), your macOS version, and, if possible, the affected email saved as a .eml file. Real examples make the problem much faster to reproduce and to fix.
