Adding a Mail.com Account to Airmail (IMAP Setup)

Problem

You're trying to add a Mail.com email account to Airmail but the automatic setup fails or can't authenticate.

Solution

Mail.com accounts need to be added as IMAP accounts with manual server settings.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Open Airmail
  2. Go to Settings → Accounts → Add Account
  3. Select Other (IMAP)
  4. Enter your Mail.com email address and password
  5. If automatic detection fails, enter the settings manually:

Mail.com Server Settings

Incoming Mail (IMAP)

  • Server: imap.mail.com
  • Port: 993
  • Security: SSL/TLS
  • Username: Your full email address

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

  • Server: smtp.mail.com
  • Port: 587
  • Security: STARTTLS
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Authentication: Password

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure you're using your full email address as the username (e.g., yourname@mail.com)
  • If you have 2FA enabled on Mail.com, you may need to generate an app-specific password from the Mail.com security settings
  • Confirm that IMAP access is enabled in your Mail.com account settings (Settings → POP3/IMAP)
  • Double-check that your password is correct by logging in at mail.com first
