How to Delete a Stuck Draft with Large Attachment

Problem

You have a draft email in Airmail with a large attachment that won't delete, or the draft is stuck and can't be discarded.

Solution

Method 1: Delete from Draft Folder

  1. Go to the Drafts folder in the sidebar
  2. Find the stuck draft
  3. Open it by clicking on it
  4. Remove the attachment first by clicking the X next to the attachment name
  5. Then click the Close button (X)
  6. When prompted, select Discard

Method 2: Right-Click Delete

  1. Navigate to the Drafts folder
  2. Right-click on the stuck draft
  3. Select Delete or Move to Trash

Method 3: Delete via Webmail

If the draft won't delete from Airmail:

  1. Log into your email via web browser (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
  2. Go to the Drafts folder
  3. Delete the stuck draft from there
  4. Return to Airmail and refresh (pull to refresh or Cmd+R)

Method 3: Clear Local Data

As a last resort:

  1. Go to Airmail Settings → Accounts
  2. Select the affected account
  3. Look for Reset Cache or Rebuild Mailbox
  4. This will re-sync with the server and should clear the stuck draft
