How to Manage Multiple Email Identities in Airmail

Problem

You have multiple email accounts or identities and want to manage them efficiently in Airmail.

Adding Multiple Accounts

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts
  2. Click + to add a new account
  3. Repeat for each email address you use

Per-Account Settings

Each account in Airmail can have its own:

  • Signature — Different signatures for work vs personal
  • Default Send-From — Set which "From" address is used by default
  • Notification Preferences — Get notified for some accounts but not others
  • Sync Settings — How many days/messages to sync per account
  • Color Indicator — Assign colors to visually distinguish accounts

Choosing Send-From Identity

On Mac

  1. When composing, click the From field
  2. A dropdown shows all your accounts and aliases
  3. Select the identity you want to send from

Smart Auto-Detection

When replying, Airmail automatically selects the account that received the original email. This ensures you reply from the correct identity without manual selection.

Tips

  • Set your most-used account as the default in Settings
  • Use account colors to quickly identify which account received an email
  • Create Smart Folders to combine inboxes from specific accounts
  • Aliases must be set up at the provider level before they appear in Airmail
